The Tallahassee Senior Center will be hosting their 14th annual active living expo and TSC showcase. Over 80 exhibitors will be attending.

Andrea Personett is the assisting supervisor for programming at TSC.  Personett talks about the importance of the active living expo and showcase.

“Sometimes people have an idea about seniors that isn’t quite correct,” she says. “Seniors are just as diverse as 20 year olds.”

The center provides many activities throughout the week. Senior citizens are able to sharpen their French skills to sculpting clay in an art class. A few have expressed the art class as therapeutic. Marie Thompson who visits TSC talks about her main interest in this year’s expo.

“I’m very interested in the nutrient program,” Thompson says. “I’m very into organic and healthy eating.”

The center also provides senior citizens with assistance for medicare and medicaid. Coming next month, the center will be providing two medicare workshops. For more information about the expo, check out TSC’s Facebook page.
