Cascades Park Sinkhole
By Hannah Carroll, News 20 at Five
Workers at Cascades Park think there might be a sinkhole that could cause their construction to come to a halt. Planners say they saw water swirls in the pond located inside the park. This is a sign of a potential sinkhole. They noticed it early August after the heavy downpours of Tropical Storm Debbie. Commissioners have agreed on $500,000 to be used in the event that this is a sinkhole. Even with the major setbacks, they still plan on having the park finished on time. It’s scheduled to be opened early next year.
