Thomasville Road Speed Limit Increase

The speed limit on a section of Thomasville Road in Midtown has increased. The speed went from thirty-five up to forty-five miles per hour. It has many people worried, especially since it happened in an area they’re trying to make pedestrian-friendly. Adam Sessions is a frequent walker. He says he’s worried not only for himself, but also for the safety of his children.
“I walk my kids to the park every weekend. It makes it a lot scarier to walk them there now.”
As the community is trying to increase pedestrian activity in the area, some are concerned the higher speed limit could lead to accidents. City officials urge everyone to pay close attention when driving, no matter where they are.
