Tallahassee to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness month

October is National Disability Employment Awareness month. The national campaign raises awareness about disability employment issues. Tallahassee will recognize area employers that hire people with disabilities on Thursday, Oct. 18. Florida celebrates employment of almost six million disabled workers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about eighteen percent of people with a disability are employed.
