After an all time record low, average home mortgage rates begin an upward climb. After experiencing such low numbers surrounding areas are beginning to show an increase in rates.The average mortgage rate for 30 years have rose from 3.36 percent to 3.39 percent.

Officials said low interest rates and the growth of jobs have helped boost demand for homes as the housing market recovers from the great recession.
